This exotic Alocasia variety is named after Zac B. Sarian--the agri-journalist who first discovered it in the lush Philippine jungle.
Some debate over its taxonomic status have led some to believe that it is a hybrid of Alocasia zebrina and Alocasia micholitziana. However, as a species that is originally native to the Philippines and its presence in Ilocos Norte indicate that it is more likely a variety of Alocasia macrorrhizos.
Alocasia Sarian is distinguished by its long, glossy, arrow-shaped leaves with lightly coloured veins and striped stems. Its slender foliage and upright growing habit make it suitable for indoor spaces. This plant can grow above 3ft/1m tall, so make sure it has room to grow.
