Chrysanthemum

Mum's the Word

Often times referred to as Mums or Chrysanths, the Chrysanthemum is native to Asia and north-eastern Europe. Mums are extremely popular during the fall because of their beautiful colour varieties. Indoor mums are prized as houseplants for their ability to cleanse common household air pollutants and volatile organic compounds (as demonstrated by the NASA Clean Air Study).

Advanced Watering

Water the pot only when soil begins to feel dry to the touch. Over-watering your Mum could lead to root rot. Mums love bright, filtered light. Be sure to place it near a bright window in your home. Avoid direct sunlight as this can cause harm to the plant while growing indoors. Mums can grow in warmer temperatures, but to keep them looking lively and bright, it is suggested that they stay at a cooler temperatures; around 60˚F – 70˚F.
