Show off your exotic taste with the Pineapple plant! Native to South America, Pineapple plants are exotic perennials belonging Bromeliad family. This miniature variety grows to a maximum height of about 2ft (60cm) and produces tiny fruits no larger than 3in (7cm).

Like other bromeliads the mother plant fades after flowering/fruiting, usually producing offshoots that will grow to replace it.

Harvest
Only the ripened fruit of certain pineapple varieties is edible. Please note that this plant is not organically grown.

Pineapple plants are not particularly toxic to cats, but their leaves contain sap which may act as a skin irritant.
